This unique edge-grain cutting board has maple as its basic wood type. Maple has a uniform structure in which a fine stripe pattern is usually visible on the quarter face due to the rather sharp delineation of the growth rings. Characteristic are the small mirrors on the quarter face and the somewhat silky sheen.
Accents include the very nice yellow Pau amarelo with a beautiful sheen, the dark brown/black wenge which is very durable and purpleheart. Purpleheart is a very tough wood that is difficult to sand and all the more a very high quality and durable addition to any wood cutting board.
The two perfectly matching design serving boards complete this set. Of course, these meet the same quality standards and have received the same oil and wax treatment as the cutting board.
